The video opens showing SPC Tim Bailey in a weight room dressed in his Army Combat Uniform, or ACUs. As he begins to speak, the image fades to a montage showing him in his Army uniform, workout clothing, and casual-wear while holding a football. The image shifts to Tim standing to the side of the screen next to text that reads “SPC Tim Bailey: Defensive End.”
My name is Timothy Bailey. I’m a specialist for the Army National Guard. And I’m a college football player.
Tim is shown talking in the weight room. Images of him playing football are shown while he continues to speak.
I work out five days a week in the gym. I ride for about 30 minutes on a bike. Never on the weekends really. I think that’s a time for my body to recover from the hard week I put in.
Tim is shown lifting weights, spotted by another athlete.
The thing I do to keep from getting bored with my workout is I will invite somebody to try to work out with me, try to create some type of competition, which will help me see the potential that I wasn’t seeing when I was working out by myself.
Tim is shown performing various exercises at a gym.
I do push-ups every night and when I’m working out I do bench press, chin-ups which I think is very important because you’re lifting your own weight, and bicep curls, and triceps extensions. I also do leg curls which strengthen my hamstrings. . .
A group of athletes is show running on an outdoor track.
…and also just running.
The group of athletes is shown performing various stretches.
I try to stretch every night. I think that’s very important. It’s so simple and I think if people got in the routine of stretching every night they’d be amazed at how flexible they’ll be in say two weeks.
The video again shows Tim in the weight room while talking about his routine.
I start out with breakfast. I think that’s very important. I try to eat whole grain cereal and stay away from fried foods, and also something as simple as eating wheat bread instead of white bread. And just drinking a lot of fluids during the day, just try to stay away from sodas.
Clips of Tim playing football are shown.
I will always work out because I care about my body and I think everybody else should too.
The video ends with an image montage showing Tim in his Army uniform, workout clothing, and casual-wear while holding a football. The image shifts to Tim standing to the side of the screen next to text that reads “SPC Tim Bailey: Defensive End.”
