Guard Fit Challenge – Video: Inside the Exercise - Lat Pull-Down

SGT Jeremy White, SGT Courtney Zablocki, and SGT Vikram Mittal are shown doing lat pull-downs in a gym setting. A graphic transition is made to an introduction screen that says “Inside the Exercise: Lat Pull Down.”

After a quick transition, Courtney is shown from the side sitting at a lat pull-down machine.

Courtney: This is the lat pull-down. This helps you strengthen your back muscles and your bicep muscles, which help you lift, carry, pull, and climb.

The video cuts to Jeremy from the side standing at the lat pull-down machine, grasping the bar.

Courtney: To start this, you’ll have to stand up to grasp the bar. You’ll put your palms facing out, sit down with your feet comfortably on the floor.

The camera then shows Jeremy from the front from the chest up performing the exercise.

Courtney: And then pull the bar all the way to your chest, to right about here and then let it go right back up.

The camera cuts back to Courtney from the side sitting at the lat pull-down machine.

Courtney: Make sure you don’t let your arms go all the way relaxed because you can pull a muscle.

The video then transitions to Vikram shown from the side from the chest up performing the exercise.

Jeremy: It focuses on the lats, as the primary muscle.


The camera cuts back to Jeremy from the side seated at the lat pull-down machine.

Jeremy: It focuses on the biceps as the secondary muscle.

The camera shifts to show Jeremy from the front from the chest up speaking to the camera.

Jeremy: Bring the weight down to your chest..

The camera cuts to Jeremy from the side.

Jeremy:…slightly lean back, really target the muscle group in the back. Bring it up; bring it back down.

The video then transitions to show Courtney from the side performing the exercise.

Jeremy: Do about 8 to 12 reps with enough weight to get a good workout.

 

The video concludes as a graphic transition is made on the screen that says “Inside the Exercise: Lat Pull Down.”
