Guard Fit Challenge – Video: Inside the Exercise – Biceps Curl Alternate
Three athletes are shown, one at a time, doing the biceps curl alternate exercise in a weight room. All three are using a resistance band for this exercise. An intro screen that says “Inside the Exercise: Biceps Curl Alternate” appears. SGT Jeremy White, one of the athletes, begins a description of the exercise while performing the biceps curl alternate.
Jeremy: If you don’t have access to a gym or if you’re traveling, this is a great substitute for the bicep curl. So what you want to do is step into the band, you want your feet shoulder-width apart, arms at the side, hands down here at the thighs. Nice controlled movements, nice controlled breathing.
The camera cuts to SPC Tim Bailey performing the biceps curl alternate.
Jeremy: Don’t arch your back, keep it nice and straight.
The camera cuts to SGT Courtney Zablocki performing the biceps curl alternate.
Courtney: So to prevent injury, you want your elbows nice and tight, close to your body and you want to come up nice, slow, and controlled. You don’t want them out here, because then you’re not using the right muscles, but you can also hurt your elbows. You want to come up nice and slow and controlled.
The camera cuts to Jeremy, who continues to perform biceps curl alternates until the final screen of the video. The final screen contains the words “Inside the Exercise: Biceps Curl Alternate.”
