About National Physical Fitness & Sports Month
Fitness has always been important in the United States, but is more important than ever as our nation renews its commitment to getting more active and eating healthier.
What was once a challenge to schools to help students get into their best shape—the President's Challenge—has moved out of the school gyms and into our communities. The President's Challenge offers a wide variety of programs designed to help people of all ages increase their activity and lead healthier lives. Since 1983, the month of May has been celebrated as National Physical Fitness and Sports Month: a time to raise awareness of the value of physical fitness.
The Army National Guard—and the Guard Fit Challenge program—is proud to support the larger mission of the President's Challenge. If you want to get in shape, stay in shape, or improve your current workout routine, the Guard Fit Challenge program provides the resources that you need to challenge yourself to work out more effectively and start seeing results.
