An aviation operations specialist in the Massachusetts Army National Guard, SGT Vikram Mittal was a high school football player before becoming a runner in college as a way to relieve stress.

A member of the 2008-2009 All Guard Marathon Team, Vikram earned a doctorate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while training for events including the Boston marathon.

Workout Routine

To stay in shape for marathons, Vikram includes the following exercises in his workout:

Vikram’s running workouts always start with a warm-up run followed by stretching. At the end of his runs, he makes sure to stretch as well.
