A lifelong skier, SGT Ryan McDonald picked up snowboarding as a way to make extra money as an instructor. After attending his first race, he was hooked on snowboarding competition.
He scored his first major podium in 2003, the year he also he scored the best World Cup performance of his career. Ryan serves in the Washington Army National Guard, where he represents his state and his country in both national and international snowboarding events.
